Two local Gold Award Girl Scouts and more than 20 Bronze and Silver Award Girl Scouts, along with their friends and family will celebrate earning the highest awards in Girl Scouts during a ceremony at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Thursday, May 9.
The Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, culminates with a project led by one young woman between ninth and 12th grade who builds a purpose-based team to work with the larger community to meet a need. The Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn and the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn is Bronze. All three awards culminate with a project to meet a community need.
