This season, skiers and riders from the Front Range will have far more opportunities to take the Winter Park Express Amtrak train to Winter Park Resort.
The Winter Park Express will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting Jan. 10 through March 29. Last year, the train only ran on the first two Fridays of each month, as well as every Saturday and Sunday, during the season.
The 18 additional trips available on the Winter Park Express this season are a result of the growing popularity since the train returned in 2017, according to Liz Agostin, marketing director for the resort.
“This addition is a 30% increase in trips throughout our Winter Park Express season, and gives guests the opportunity to plan a long weekend ski trip without having to drive,” Agostin said.
The trains will depart Denver’s Union Station at 7 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and arrive in Winter Park Resort at 9 a.m. Then they will depart Winter Park at 4:30 p.m. and return to Denver around 6:40 p.m.
Adult fares start at $29 each way and each ticketed adult can bring a child aged 2-12 for half the adult price.
