Work to replace 28-year-old hot tub at rec center starts July 1
The outdoor hot tub at the Breckenridge Recreation Center will be closed starting July 1 so it can be replaced with a new one.
The old hot tub is 28 years old, and it and the surrounding concrete slab will be demolished to make room for a new outdoor hot tub designed to hold 16 people, whereas the old one can hold only eight.
The new tub will be built of stainless steel, which has a longer lifespan and is easier to clean and maintain, according to town staff. The town expects construction of the outdoor tub to take six weeks.
