By Alex Zorn Text messages that were perceived as a threat against Coal Ridge High School sent the school into lockout mode on Monday, in a decision made by the school’s administrative team, according to school and public safety officials.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office officials said the text messages were sent to a student at CRHS from an individual who was not a student. The individual was located and arrested, states a press release sent by the Sheriff’s Office.
The incident is currently an active investigation and will continue and until the extent and severity of the text messages can be determined by public safety officials.
The lockout was lifted after the Sheriff’s department felt there was no threat to the school. …read more
