With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden death of our beloved, Jeff Anderson, who died of natural causes, during the morning on the first day of 2019. He passed during an early morning hunting trip, in the snow, on a mountain (Four Peaks in Maricopa County, AZ). Those who knew Jeff, knew also that he died doing something he loved. Jeff will be missed everyday by his wife of 14 years, Robin (Sawyer) and 8-year old son CJ, his brother Jeremy Anderson, his beloved mother and step father, Jaye Anderson (Mayfield) and Jerry Lombardo, grandmother Wilma Mayfield, and many relatives and friends from Kansas, Arizona, Florida and Washington. Jeff was born in Salina, Kansas on April 20, 1971 and grew up in Glenwood Springs, where under the guidance of his father, Jim Anderson, Jeff learned to love the amazing outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, golf, skiing and playing guitar. As a young man, Jeff moved to Tempe, to study landscape architecture at Arizona State University. Upon graduation, he joined the firm Cornoyer Hedrick and at the time of his death worked at The Design Element (http://tde.design), a successful and award-winning landscape architecture firm he founded with his longtime friend and business partner, Marc Beyer. While a young architect, Jeff married his love of more than 20 years, Robin, a union that resulted in the joyful birth of their beloved son CJ. As he died doing what he loved, Jeff lived doing what he loved as well. He accomplished much professionally and did so following his passion for art and design, leaving a lasting legacy of creative and expressive landscapes and spaces that will continue to touch the lives of those who encounter them.
