Light up art at Imagination Station

The Vail Recreation District’s (VRD) Imagination Station is offering a new way to light up your evening!

Beginning today and running through through March 1, the Imagination Station is extending its hours on Fridays until 8 p.m. and featuring a new activity: light up art. Parents and kids (recommended ages eight and up) can build a circuit board with lights, then have those lights shine in art they create. This is a fun and playful way to learn about science and circuitry while making colorful designs to take home.

The cost of light up art is included in the entry price of $7 per child per day, while parents and children under two are free.

Virtual Reality and Paint Your Own Pottery are available for an additional fee. Drop-ins are welcome and no registration is required.

The Imagination Station features a variety of other engaging activities included in the entry fee. A Thoughts Flow water table encourages experimentation and problem solving, a play wall integrates physical and cognitive learning and a variety of other activities inspire creativity and thoughtful play.

The Imagination Station is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The art studio is open from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday The Imagination Station is located in Vail above the Lionshead Welcome Center on the second floor.
