By Staff report The Glenwood Springs Post Independent welcomes Senior Account Manager Lisa Curley as the newest member of its advertising sales team, servicing the Glenwood and Carbondale markets.
Curley comes to Glenwood Springs from Park City, Utah, where she has been living for the past 15 years raising her daughter.
Originally from Chicago, she said she fell in love with the mountains after a friend took her to Vail with her family when she was 14. Curley went to CU Boulder for two years, studying journalism, and then transferred to the University of California–Santa Barbara where she graduated with a BA in communications.
“I had wanted to become a film producer and was thrilled when I had the opportunity to work in Chicago, LA and SLC on a TV series and many feature films,” she said. “Life changed directions and I sold real estate in Chicago. I learned a lot about marketing since I had to sell my services to potential buyers and sellers.”
Curley worked in health care in a sales consultant capacity before joining the Park Record in Park City.
“Helping businesses be successful was my favorite part of my job,” she said. “I had the opportunity to become certified in digital marketing and continue to learn new products. Swift Communications offers resources and training so I can continue learning the new trends in the industry.”
Said Post Independent Publisher and Advertising Director Jerry Raehal, “We’re thrilled to have Lisa join the team. She brings experience and excitement to the position. She comes with great recommendations, and as we’ve talked, I know she is thrilled to be part of the community.”
We asked Curley to answer a few questions on her decision to relocate to the Roaring Fork Valley, and what she hopes to bring to her new sales position in Glenwood Springs.
