Mountain Rec rings in the new year

Join Mountain Recreation and the Towns of Gypsum and Eagle to celebrate New Year’s Eve and Mountain Rec’s new name, mission and vision. The event will take place on Monday from 5 to 7:15 p.m. at the Gypsum Rec Center

The Towns of Gypsum and Eagle have donated the fireworks they were unable to shoot off this 4th of July due to fire restrictions to end the night with a boom.

This event is free for all to attend. Parking in the Eagle Valley High School lots is encouraged once the rec center’s lots are full.

The sports complex will be closed all day for preparation, and Cooley Mesa Road will be closed until 7:45 p.m. for safety.

The event will include an open house at the rec center with the pool, gymnastic area and bounce houses available from 5 to 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will also be in operation on the patio from 5 to 7:15 p.m., with the firework show with snacks kicking off at 7 p.m. The best view will be from the Lundgren Amphitheater lawn.
