Aaaah, mmrs.
Over the weekend we celebrated 10 years of Fall Out Boy‘s ‘Folie À Deux’! And while remembering the album and honouring its 10-year history is great- that doesn’t really tell the whole story.
The whole campaign behind the launch of ‘Folie’ was so much bigger than just an album drop. From releasing a ‘Citizens FOB’ mixtape (featuring the first demo of ‘Lake Effect Kid’), all the way through to a publicity stunt involving Pete Wentz buying a taco truck and turning it into a doughnut truck for Fresh Only Bakery- the (fall out) boys didn’t do anything by halves.
But there was also a surprise appearance in New York City, which lead to the band almost getting arrested. Yes- really.
It turns out that the NYC Police Department don’t take too kindly to big international bands hosting free concerts in Washington Square Park. Who knew?!
With threats of arrest being thrown around, the band opted not to perform as planned- but they did host a nice little sing-along.
