311 reflect on their nearly three-decade career in Enlarged to Show Detail 3, the third installment of their ongoing documentary series. The film premieres in theaters nationwide on, fittingly, March 11th (3/11) for one-night-only screenings.
The eclectic alt-rock band produced Enlarged to Show Detail 3 with Wayne Price, director of the Nashville/country-focused 2015 doc Heartworn Highways Revisited. The 90-minute movie follows previous Enlarged projects from 1996 and 2001 and features a mixture of fan-shot clips and high-quality live performance footage compiled from previous 311 Day concerts, 311 Caribbean Cruises and the 311 Pow Wow Festival.
Enlarged includes interviews with each of the band members (singer-guitarist Nick Hexum, singer-turntablist Doug “SA” Martinez, guitarist Tim Mahoney, bassist P-Nut and drummer Chad Sexton), along with more than 25 fans. More info is available at the event website.
Prior to the film’s debut, 311 will launch a U.S. tour February 25th in Orlando, Florida. The band has a handful of dates booked through the spring, along with their latest cruise, which runs March 1st through the 6th.
The quintet issued their 12th studio LP, Mosaic, in 2017.
