Blink-182 Have Addressed Lil Wayne Walking Off Stage Mid-Set During Their Co-Headline Tour

And they’ve stood up for their tourmate.

Two weeks into their co-headline run earlier this year, the blink-182 and Lil Wayne tour hit a minor snag when Lil Wayne walked off stage mid-set, sharing that it’s “not [his] swag”.

Before walking off stage, Lil Wayne shared “I’m not sure how long I’m going to be able to do this tour, but make some noise for blink-182 for including me anyway. This might be my last night though. Let’s go.”, leaving his future on the line-up uncertain.

However, within 24 hours Lil Wayne had addressed his outburst on Twitter, and clarified that he wouldn’t be leaving the tour by sharing “Yesterday was krazy! But I want all my fans to know I won’t be quitting this tour! I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182”. And that was that – the tour carried on. There was no need for a statement from co-headliners blink-182, because the whole situation was put to bed by Lil Wayne. The tour continued.

Now that the tour is in the rear-view, and is over a month behind them, blink have addressed the Lil Wayne situation when asked about it by KROQ – and they addressed it by standing up for their tourmate.

When asked if Lil Wayne was a nightmare to work with, Mark Hoppus immediately lept to his defence, sharing “He was awesome – he was awesome, his band was amazing, his whole crew, everybody. It was so fun all summer long.”

Travis Barker also added, “The one day where he walked off stage, he had said, ‘I just felt like they didn’t like me,’ so he walked off stage… ‘I didn’t want to put them through it. I just wanted you guys to be able to get on and do your thing.’”

And that’s that on that. Everyone is friends, and there’s no love lost.
