We have ‘High Hopes’ for this.
Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie has shared that he’s been in discussions with movie directors around working on the music for movies or Broadway shows.
Speaking to The Sun, Brendon shared “I’ve been talking to a couple of movie directors about film music ideas and about doing musical theatre, Broadway maybe.
“The ideal would be to write music for an idea somebody else has come up with.”
There’s a chance that he could even end up writing a story based on himself, sharing “I talked about doing my origin story, growing up in Vegas, so we will see what happens.”
It seems like Brendon absolutely has the showbiz bug following his run as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots on Broadway back in 2017.
Speaking of his time in Kinky Boots on Broadway, Rock Sound asked if there’s any chance of seeing a Panic! At The Disco musical when we spoke with Brendon about Panic!’s win for Artist Of The Year at the Rock Sound Awards.
Brendon shared “Maybe we could do that! Maybe we could tell the story of the origins of the band, going right the way back to the beginning… I would love to. That would be great.”
He continued “After talking to various people within the theatre industry it seems as though it would be very feasible for us to put together, and most importantly it would be a lot of fun. Sure, it would be a great challenge, but ultimately the reward would be so huge and we’d get to tell the story exactly the way that we wanted to. I feel like Panic! should have a show like that, that is so theatrical and outlandish.”
Needless to say, we’re a bit keen on this happening.
