Fall Out Boy Have Bought An Ice-Cream Truck, And Served Fans Waiting For The Secret Show

This is the story that may have been overlooked in the excitement of the announcement of the Hella Mega Tour yesterday (if you missed that, just know that Green DayFall Out Boy and Weezer have teamed up for a massive world tour together).

To get you thoroughly up to speed, as well as announcing the tour, Fall Out Boy also released a brand new single called ‘Dear Future Self (Hands Up)’, and announced the details of their upcoming album ‘Believers Never Die, Volume Two’.

But that’s not all – on Beats 1, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz also revealed that he’d bought an ice-cream truck. Which has been painted up in Fall Out Boy branding. To match the single artwork for ‘Dear Future Self (Hands Up)’.

Speaking about his new ice-cream truck, Pete shared “I bought an ice cream truck yesterday, though. So, I’m going to… we’re going to drive that around and put out some Fall Out Boy ice cream. I have a guy like this, that procures the ice cream truck for me. And – Yes, that’s true. Because sometimes I feel like we’ll be talking – like me and Patrick will be talking. And it’s like, well fuck it – like we could even like do like an ice cream or something. You know? It doesn’t have to be an album. And then the next thing you know, you’re trying to buy the ice cream truck.”

He continued “I think we’re going to collaborate with it, because there’s all this FDA stuff we would have to go through – I’ve thought about it. And in relation to the song, there’s nothing sadder than when you see an ice cream that has come off the cone, and is on the ground. Like, that’s the saddest. I want to do a whole Instagram of those. They’re really sad. There’s no tour plan. But I’m going to take it around my neighborhood, at least. So I’ll let people know.”

AndPete isn’t just talk – he’s not just bought the ice-cream truck, he personally parked it up outside Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles last night where Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer were set to play a secret show to launch the Hella Mega Tour campaign together. Pete spent some time yesterday serving Fall Out Boy fans ice-cream from his truck. Check out some photos below:

Nice!
