As well as those previously announced appearances at Leeds’ Slam Dunk North on May 25 and Hatfield’s Slam Dunk South on May 26…
…She’ll be joined by Lizzy Farrall at the following dates.
MAY
21 – MANCHESTER Night And Day
23 – LONDON Garage
27 – BRISTOL Thekla
28 – GLASGOW King Tuts
We caught up with Lights a little while back to see what she has in store for the UK.
This is the first time you’ve played Slam Dunk!
“I’m stoked! I’ve heard it’s Warped Tour in a weekend, UK style. Everyone I know who’s gone has had fun, so I’m ready to relive my Warped experiences across the pond. Some of the bands I grew up on, like NOFX and Glassjaw, are playing so I’m excited. I definitely won’t be telling Daryl Palumbo I made a sculpture of him in high school.”
This will also be the first time you’ve been to the UK since 2016 – what’s changed for you since then?
“God, that feels like a century ago. I feel like things have changed a ton. I haven’t even been on UK soil with my red lid – a travesty! My confidence in myself has skyrocketed since ‘Skin & Earth’ I think, with pulling off an entire album-tied graphic novel on my own and managing to follow through on things I never thought I could. I love playing shows more than ever. I have a whole other album of songs I love playing that I didn’t have before.”
