He also revealed some important details about their debut EP.
Mark Hoppus has revealed more details about his new band Simple Creatures which he launched last week alongside All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth- and the follow up to their debut EP will depend on when All Time Low and Blink-182 release their new albums.
In an interview with Alt 98.7 Mark shared that they’ve already got their second EP ready to go, saying “There’s lots of other stuff in the can, we have a whole second EP ready to go in the summer some time, depending on when All Time Low have their record come out or Blink have their record come out. We’ll kind of weave it between those two.”
He also shared some important details about their debut EP for the first time ever, including that it’s called ‘Strange Love’, and will be made up of six tracks. Previously the EP was only alluded to as ‘EP One’, and as yet a solid release date hasn’t been announced- only a vague release date for March 2019.
Mark also revealed that they definitely plan on taking Simple Creatures out on the road, and performing live- just not in the immediate future, or in traditional ways. When asked if the intention was to perform live as Simple Creatures, Mark shared “Yes absolutely, we want to take it everywhere live. We don’t want to do the normal ‘go play a small club’ thing, so we’ll try to do warehouse parties or events, or if someone called up and said ‘hey we have a fashion week party next week in Paris, would you go play it?’ we would go and play it… Early this summer or next fall we’ll hopefully be performing live.”
‘Strange Love’ is set for release in March. Check out their debut single ‘Drug’ below:
