A bit of a sad end to the year.
Deaf Havana acoustic guitarist and keyboardist Max Britton has announced his immediate departure from the band.
In a statement posted to the band’s Facebook, Max cited his reasons for leaving the band revolve largely around no longer enjoying the touring aspect of being in the band, sharing “The biggest thing for me is I really haven’t been enjoying touring and being away at all, so much so that I’ve had to make this really tough decision, as it was starting to affect my health.”
He continued “It’s been the most insane ride with many ups and downs and I can’t believe how much we have accomplished as a band. I know this is only the start and 2019 is going to be a massive year for Deaf Havana which I will be very proud to watch!”
Max joined Deaf Havana officially in 2013, having been a touing member of the band the year before.

“This is definitely the hardest thing I have ever had to write,
After much agonising over the past couple of months, I’ve decided it’s time for me to leave Deaf Havana.
The biggest thing for me is I really haven’t been enjoying touring and being away at all, so much so that I’ve had to make this really tough decision, as it was starting to affect my health.
I can’t thank the boys (Deaf Havana) enough for welcoming me in and letting me be a part of this journey I have seriously had the best times of my life and memories that will always stay with me. We have been through so much together and we’ll have a bond that many people will never have and love them all from the bottom of my heart.
It’s been the most insane ride with many up’s and downs and I can’t believe how much we have accomplished as a band. I know this is only the start and 2019 is going to be a massive year for Deaf Havana which I will be very proud to watch!
Finally, the one thing that has made this all possible is having you guys, the best fans in the world, so’d like to thank each and every one of you for that.
Love you all
Max xxx”
