Almost 15 years after its release, too.
Absolute classic, My Chemical Romance‘s ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ has just passed a pretty big milestone for streams on Spotify.
2019 marks 15 years since ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ was released, the album that ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ featured on. So it’s nice timing on this.
Since Spotify launched in 2008, ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ has been streamed over 100 million times. HUGE.
The achievement was pointed out by reddit user Lego_Bagel, and is significant as it marks only the third song by My Chem to cross the 100 million streams threshold.
‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ is currently the band’s third most popular track, sitting behind ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ and ‘Teenagers’, both off My Chem’s 2006 album ‘The Black Parade’.
With all those streams, it got us wondering just how big of a hit ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ has been. So we ran some numbers.
At time of publishing (January 22, 2019) it’s been streamed 101.9 million times on Spotify, and the official video has been watched 46.7 million times on YouTube. That’s a grand total of 148.6 million streams. To put that in context, if you were to single-handedly listen to ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ on repeat 148.6 million times it would take you:
885 years
46,192 weeks
323,342 days
7.76 million hours
4.65 million minutes
27.9 billion seconds
Truly, you won’t be okay (we promise) after that.
‘I’m Not Okay’ just passed 100 million streams on Spotify!! Congrats to the band. from r/MyChemicalRomance
