It’s so much more than aliens.
It’s been just over four years since Tom DeLonge announced his departure from Blink-182, and now he’s opened up about his reasons for quitting the band in 2015.
In a video explaining his company To The Stars Academy Of Arts & Science, Tom revealed that he made the personal decision to quit the band.
Tom shared “The last show I played was in front of 100,000 people. They wonder why I’m not doing that now and I’ll say because this is the one moment in my life where I’ll be able to look back as an old man and say, ‘oh my god, I was apart of the team that changed the world.'”
He then goes into detail about establishing To The Stars, and the branches of the business before sharing “I wanted to make a quick message to let you know that from the heart, I left my band and all that I was known for because this is the moment and time I can change the world for my kids and everybody else.”
The video closes on archive footage of Tom playing in Blink-182 alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.

So basically, it seems he is very invested in his work – so maybe shelve any hopes of a Blink reunion with Tom for the time being.
