But if you thought that Tom was going to keep his aerospace work separate from AVA, you thought wrong.

Inside the current issue of Rock Sound, Tom discussed how he plans on bringing his work with science and space out on the road with Angels & Airwaves, sharing “It won’t happen on this first US tour, but as the band goes forward, people will be able to come and experience all of the advanced science work, the aerospace engineering, all the entertainment properties, the science fiction film and TV shows and animations that I’ve been working on, before they even walk through to see the stage, and then all of that will come to life in the performance. Everything really has fallen into place.”

And as for how he feels about getting back out on the road again, for the first time in years? He feels like it’s meant to be, sharing “It’s a little bit like riding a bike, where you never really ride it, but when it’s handed to you you’re like, ‘Oh shit, I know how to do this!’ At the same time, I haven’t been touring for years, and there was a point where I thought I might not ever tour again, for real. But I’m very much a believer that your life is laid out for you with breadcrumbs, and if you don’t notice those, you could get off track, find yourself doing things you hate. But if you follow the breadcrumbs and recognise them, you’ll be on the path that you were laid out to do. For me, those breadcrumbs all started falling into place, to start recording, to form my company, to do this.”

Nice!
