If you’ve ever dreamed of your guitar sounding exactly like Green Day‘s seminal album ‘Dookie’, you’re in luck!
To celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of ‘Dookie’, Green Day have worked with Dunlop to release the ‘Dookie’ drive pedal.
Billie Joe Armstrong developed his signature ‘Dookie’ tone on the album by running his signal through two heavily modified amplifiers – one scooped with a ton of gain and the other with a well-defined midrange. When it came time to mix the record, the band blended the two signals together in different ratios to match the vibe of each track.
In order to best match that signature sound, the team at Dunlop borrowed Billie Joe’s original amps for a series of rigorous tests- and now you can have your very own ‘Dookie’ tone!
