Sara Bareilles latest single “Fire” gets passionate contemporary dance choreography set to it for its video. The singer-songwriter’s new album Amidst the Chaos will be released on April 5th.
While Bareilles sings the track in front of a large, open flame, a pair of dancers perform a romantic, explosive number that reflects the story Bareilles is telling about accepting the demise of a relationship that was never exciting in the first place. The dancers play a couple going through the motions of a relationship that they are grasping to hold onto.
Amidst the Chaos is Bareilles’ fifth album and first since 2013’s The Blessed Unrest. In the time since, she has made her Broadway debut as both a lyricist and star in the musical Waitress. She has gained two Tony nominations for Best Original Score: one for Waitress and later for her contribution of a track to the Broadway adaptation of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants. Last year, she was up for an Emmy for her appearance as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert.
