20 Under 40: Jonah Landy quickly becoming renowned restaurateur

Jonah Landy

Jonah Landy might be a young man at just 23, but he is already a budding restaurateur.

With the founding of Squeaky B’s last year in Grand Lake, Landy began establishing himself as one of Grand County’s up and comers and many local citizens are anxiously anticipating the opening of his newest ventures later this year.

“Jonah is incredibly philanthropic and donates his free time to serving on the boards of the Grand Lake Chamber, Snowmobile Trails Commission, Heart and Soul and Colorado Restaurant Association,” said the individual who nominated Landy for 20 Under 40. “He continues to monitor and connect with his peers in Uganda where he was instrumental in developing a teaching farm to help the local communities with sustainable agriculture.”

What problem would you like to solve?

With all of the growth Colorado is experiencing, I would like to help promote a vibrant community while maintaining our small-town charm and personality.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully in Grand Lake.

Who’s your hero and why?

The heroes in my life are those that try to make other’s lives better. Those types of people are an inspiration to me.

What is it about your generation that sets it apart?

We value experiences over material things.

Why did you choose Grand County?

Quality of life.

How do you like to play in Grand County?

I love the outdoors: skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, dirt-biking, fishing, boating, sailing. I love it all. I love Grand County.

What kind of future do you see for your industry in Grand County?

I wish I had a crystal ball, however I’m not really sure where the hospitality industry or Grand County will be in ten years. I do hope that people will still want a nice place to eat and a comfortable place to stay in ten years.

If you could change one thing about Grand County, what would it be?

I’d love to see more Grand County residents decide to open up businesses in the area rather than choosing to open up the business of their dreams in a different community.
