After receiving almost three feet of snow, the Colorado Department of Transportation is planning for avalanche mitigation on Berthoud Pass and warning it could delay travel.
CDOT scheduled snow removal operations Tuesday night between midnight and 4 a.m. on US Highway 40.
The work will close US 40 in both directions from mile marker 232 to 243, which stretches from Winter Park Resort to the top of Berthoud Pass.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center rates the avalanche danger in the Front Range as considerable, while other surrounding regions are at moderate danger levels.
