Sen. Michael Bennet will be in Grand County on July 30 for a listening session.
The session is scheduled to run from 1:30-5:30 p.m. at the Granby Library, 55 Zero St. A news release suggests some possible reasons for meeting with the senator and his staff, including anyone who needs help dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs, IRS, Social Security Administration or another federal agency.
People are also welcome to sign up to meet one-on-one with a representative from Bennet’s office during the listening session to offer suggestions for Congress that might help their families or community.
To schedule an appointment, email Matthew_Kireker@bennet.senate.gov or call 303-883-3119. People should include a brief description of the issue they want to address, and if someone is already working with someone in Bennet’s office, he or she should include that information in the email as well.
Bennet, a Democrat, is Colorado’s senior senator. He was first appointed to the U.S. Senate in 2009 before winning election in 2010 and being re-elected in 2016. He’s currently running for U.S. President.
