After a long battle with cancer, Beth Ann Saffell-Romero passed away on Thursday, May 30 at the age of 55. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Eternal Hills. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Romero Family Fund PO Box 1342 Winter Park, CO 80482.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Donna Saffell, Beth’s family came to Colorado in 1968. She lived with her parents and two brothers, Rick and Dennis, and went to school in Lakewood, Colorado. She graduated from Bear Creek High School.
Beth worked as a flight attendant for seven years before she married Kevin Romero on June 23, 1990. They then moved to the county in 1997.
Beth lived in the Grand County area with her beloved husband, Kevin, and three children, Colton, Paige, and Lauren, for over 20 years. She was an active member of the community, a volleyball coach for the students of East Grand Middle School and Middle Park High School, and a proud mother. Beth spent her time volunteering, working, and supporting her children and the community they call home.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Donna Saffell. She is survived by her husband Kevin and children Colton, Paige and Lauren Romero; her brothers Dennis (Cyndie) Saffell and Rick Saffell; parents-in-law Del and Carol Romero of Lakewood; brother-in-law Carl (Melody) Romero of Arizona; and her nephews and nieces Sean and Erik Saffell and Katie and Kendra Romero.
