Middle Park Health started the process to replace its hospital in Kremmling on Wednesday, and the construction will impact the entrances to the building.
Asbestos abatement on the hospital’s old administrative wing is the first step in the process to rebuild the Kremmling campus, which is part of Middle Park Health’s long-term expansion plans, explained Tiffany Freitag, spokesperson for the hospital.
Since construction fences were put up this week, the entrance to the emergency room for patients coming in their own transportation has shifted to the main entrance on the west side of the building.
Those heading to the hospital for outpatient procedures should also use the main entrance, but the clinic entrance remains unchanged.
The administrative offices and physical therapy space formerly housed in the wing undergoing the abatement work have moved to the Kremmling Wellness Center.
While Freitag said there is no timeline for when the asbestos work would finish, she added that the work is necessary to complete prior to the demolition of the building.
