Couple charged with robbing man in his home

Bond, left, and Clark

A robbery allegedly committed by a Kremmling couple sent a man to the hospital last week.

Alissa L. Clark, 27, and Michael J. Bond, 39, face charges including assault, robbery, conspiracy, false imprisonment, burglary and menacing for an alleged incident on Feb. 10.

According to the arrest affidavit, a 24-year-old man had seen Clark and Bond shoving each other in a parking lot earlier in the week. The man said he offered Clark a place to stay at his apartment, and she stayed with him for a short time before going back to Bond.

On the night of the robbery, the man was lying in bed when he heard Clark and Bond outside his home planning to break in, the affidavit said, adding that the man was still in his bed when the couple entered his bedroom.

Clark allegedly grabbed the man’s arms and held them behind his back as Bond began punching the man in his face. The man was able to shake free from Clark’s grip and “bear hugged” Bond, who allegedly head butted the man multiple times in the face and forehead. The affidavit said the man grabbed his phone and called for help before Bond ripped the phone out of his hand.

The couple was allegedly laughing and took the man’s truck keys, stating they were going to steal his truck. They left but did not steal the truck.

The man later went to the hospital where he was cleared with minor injuries.

Officers then went to the home of Clark and Bond, where Clark answered the door. The affidavit said that when officers repeatedly asked Clark where her boyfriend was, she only answered, “He is OK.”

After being placed under arrest, before the officer could tell Clark her Miranda Rights, she allegedly stated them verbatim to the officer. Bond was found in a bedroom. The affidavit went on to say that Clark made racist remarks during her ride to jail.

The man’s phone and keys were not recovered, according to the affidavit. Bond’s preliminary demand hearing is scheduled for Tuesday and Clark’s is scheduled for March 3.
