Mountain Life Fitness hosted the fifth annual Circuit for the Stars fundraiser in two crowded classes Saturday.
Classes were donation only to benefit the nonprofit, Shining Stars Foundation. The 8:15 a.m. class was full, capped at 15 people, and the second class at 9:15 a.m. was almost as full.
Hosted by Jackie Wright, the classes lasted 45 minutes with each featuring a 14-station weight training and cardio circuit performed twice. Each station was 75 seconds long with exercises like squats, knee tucks and pushups.
Upstairs the foundation hosted a silent auction featuring gift certificates and gift baskets.
The amount raised was still being determined, but there was lots of donating throughout the morning according to Cookie Ready, director of outreach programs at the foundation.
All proceeds from the classes and auction will go to benefit the upcoming Grand County Family Adventure, a five-day tour across the county, for children and their families diagnosed with pediatric cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
The Shining Stars Foundation provides year-round recreational and social programs for these families at no cost. The local charity provided services to 5,790 clients last year.
