Authorities are reporting the wildfire burning on Gore Pass north of Kremmling has been fully contained.

Along with relaying the good news, the Grand County Sheriff’s office said the U.S. Forest Service will continue working on hotspots to make sure the fire is out cold.

The small wildfire flared up Wednesday west of the Gore Lake Subdivision in Routt National Forest, near the area that Silver Creek Fire burned more than 20,000 acres about this time last year.

A wet winter and spring had kept wildfires mostly at bay throughout the summer in Grand County, but as temperatures rise, fuels are drying out and raising fire dangers locally, shown by the wildfire north of Kremmling and another on Aug. 22.
