It is not yet official, but it will only be a matter of time until Granby has both a new town manager and a new director of the chamber of commerce.

Earlier this month, Granby Town Manager Aaron Blair and his spouse, Granby Chamber of Commerce Director Jessica Blair, made statements to their respective boards announcing their impending departures from Grand County’s largest municipality.

The Blairs have not accepted new positions, but they have made clear their intent to seek employment elsewhere.

“I have shared a memo with the mayor, board of trustees and town staff that I will be seeking other employment,” Aaron Blair confirmed Monday. “I have not set a timetable for this transition, but until then I will continue to give 110% to ensure that the citizens of Granby get the effort that they deserve from the town manager and staff.”

Likewise, Jessica Blair has informed the Granby Chamber Board that she will be seeking a new position in another community as well.

“At our last board meeting, I sent an email alluding to the fact that we would be seeking other opportunities,” Jessica Blair said. “We want to do the right thing by giving people enough time to transition. We wanted to be proactive and make sure they had time to get a plan in place.”

The Blairs moved to Granby in spring 2017, shortly before Aaron Blair began his tenure as Granby’s town manager. Jessica Blair was hired as director of the Granby chamber a few weeks later. Prior to taking jobs in Granby, the Blairs lived in Fresno, California, where Aaron Blair worked as chief executive of the Downtown Fresno Partnerships.

“My family and I are so grateful for the support and friendships that we have made over the past two years in Granby,” Aaron Blair said. “The town of Granby has made enormous strides, and we are honored to have been given the opportunity to paly a small part.”
