Grand County Library District welcomes new board members

The Grand County Library District has two new board members with the appointments of Jeremy Krones and Janet Thomas.

According to a news release, Krones is well known across Grand County for his work as director of Colorado Headwaters Land Trust. He is also an avid library user and an advocate for access to literature, education and recreation.

Also, Thomas is a newly retired school librarian, who believes in the importance of public libraries as an asset to a community and in supporting individuals of all ages.

The board interviewed the two candidates in November and appointed them to the board on Dec. 10.

Krones and Thomas replace Martha “Max” Frazier, who resigned in September due to personal circumstances, and Kim Cameron, who decided not to renew when her term expired this month.

“Both Mr. Krones and Ms. Thomas bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the GCLD Board of Trustees,” said Sally Leclair, president of the board. “We are fortunate to have them joining as Trustees and look forward to their contributions and support of our community’s libraries.”
