Grand County Library looks to fill open board seat

The Grand County Library District seeks candidates for an immediate opening on its board of trustees.

A news release says trustees are tasked with working as a team to protect and advance the interests of the library community by advising the executive director in the policies, promotion, and development of the district. Trustees serve two year terms, and there are no term limits.

The open board seat will represent District 2, which encompasses the central portion of the county, including Granby and Grand Lake, but the position is open to any Grand County resident.

Preferred qualifications include a strong desire to preserve and promote the library as a public forum for the sharing of information and ideas without prejudice.

Also, a good candidate will be willing and able to give his or her time and talent to the library, including participating in monthly meetings, occasional committee meetings, special library functions and other community events at which the library is promoted. Candidates should also have the ability to assess information and make important decisions.
