Grand County police blotter, May 10-12: Person in the trunk; shots fired at the ball fields

FRIDAY, MAY 10

10:33 p.m. Strong odor of gas inside The Peak in Winter Park. All parties evacuated. Possibly coming from brewing station. Unable to locate leak. Employees were advised to call back in the morning if there’s still an odor.

11:30 p.m. It was reported that a group of several people were “trying to reason with a person,” possibly intoxicated or “disturbed” people, with loud yelling and music on the 800-block of East Agate in Granby.

SATURDAY, MAY 11

5:30 p.m. A party reported that they believed a person was in the trunk of a vehicle in the parking lot of Kum & Go in Granby. The vehicle was occupied by three females and two males. They were seen checking the trunk, only opening it a small way.

6:44 p.m. An incident of road rage between two trucks near milepost 234 on Highway 40 in Winter Park. The two trucks were following each other and were “all over the road.” The parties were unable to be located.

9:12 p.m. It was reported that commercial-grade fireworks were being shot off on the 600-block of County Road 4634 in Grand Lake. They were unable to be located.

SUNDAY, MAY 12

9:07 a.m. It was reported that there was a physical assault ending in gunshots Saturday evening at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex ball fields. No injuries were reported. The district attorney’s office was notified.
