Thanks to snow on the first official day of summer drivers are being cautioned to check road conditions before traveling since some roads have been closed and others are snow or ice covered.

Rocky Mountain National Park announced this morning that Trail Ridge Road is currently closed at Rainbow Curve on the east side and at Milner Pass on the west side due to snow and wintry conditions.

Currently, Berthoud Pass is clear, but on the opposite side of the county, Rabbit Ears Pass is getting heavy snow.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory starting 6 p.m. this evening and continuing into early Saturday morning. It forecasts four to 10 inches of snow in areas above 9,000 feet elevation and potential for light snow below 9,000 feet.
