A hazardous weather outlook continues through Saturday afternoon for Grand County including a high wind warning.

Strong winds will continue through Saturday afternoon with peak wind gusts from 50-70 mph according to the National Weather Service. Ground blizzards from blowing and drifting snow are likely in exposed areas.

Forecasters warn that high profile vehicles will be in danger of blowing over, especially along north-south oriented roads.

The National Weather Service recommends those with travel plans Saturday alter or delay them. Conditions may result in road closures; go to COTrip.org for updated road information.

Areas of the county have seen 1-8 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Additional snow accumulation of 2-5 inches is possible through late Saturday afternoon.

Winter Park has accumulated 5 inches on the mountain in the last 24 hours and expects another 2 inches Saturday, according to OpenSnow.com

The weather will warm up and dry out Sunday and Monday, forecasters say.

Some light snow is expected over the mountains Monday night into Tuesday. Another weak system could bring light snow to the mountains Wednesday into Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to remain around seasonal normals through the week.
