Highway 40 reopens after weather closure near Granby

1:50 p.m.: CDOT has opened Highway 40 from mile markers 214 to 226.

Original story: Highway 40 is closed in both directions near Granby due to winter driving conditions consisting of slick, icy roads, high winds and zero visibility.

The highway is closed from mile markers 214 to 226 (between County Road 89/Village Road to the east end of County Road 5).

According to a Facebook post from the Grand County Sheriff’s office, there are no safe alternate routes and no estimated time of reopening.
