WINTER PARK — Rock hits like “The Funeral” and “Is There a Ghost” will ring out from Winter Park later this summer as alt rock group Band of Horses will be headlining the Solshine Fest.
The Winter Park & Fraser Chamber of Commerce announced Friday that the group would serve as the event’s headliner, and that additional bands are in the process of being booked.
Band of Horses entered the music scene in 2004 in Seattle, led by Ben Bridwell. Over the years, they’ve reached new heights of fame, including receiving a Grammy-award nomination in 2010 for their album, “Infinite Arms.”
They’ve produced five studio albums and have performed around the world, as well as shows with Pearl Jam and Neil Young.
This year’s Solshine fest, scheduled for Aug. 17, will be held at the Rendezvous Event Center in Winter Park.
