Despite a soggy Saturday morning, families from around the county gathered at Middle Park High School for Granby’s 19th annual Touch a Truck Day.
Participants included local law enforcement and first responders, as well as local construction, landscaping, mortuary, trash and electric companies.
Most stations let kids directly interact with the trucks’ features, be it a loud horn or police sirens or the levers of an excavator. Mountain Parks Electric and East Grand Fire also gave rides in their respective trucks’ buckets.
Boden Jump, a swing driver for Waste Management, said he enjoys the event because it brings smiles to the kids’ faces but also because it gives him a chance to interact with the community and families he sees on his regular route.
