Kremmling man joins Colorado Sportsperson’s Roundtable

A man from Kremmling is one of seven new members on Colorado Sportsperson’s Roundtable, a group that serves as liaison between sportsmen and women and leadership at Colorado Parks and Wildlife, according to the agency.

The roundtable meets twice a year. It is designed to better connect CPW leadership with Colorado’s hunters, anglers and trappers. In a news release, CPW announced the addition of Steve Schake of Kremmling to group, along with six other individuals.

The agency says the roundtable offers an opportunity to discuss pressing issues around hunting and fishing and the management of wildlife resources. Each new member is expected to serve a two-year term.

Altogether, the roundtable has 17 members appointed by CPW and two elected delegates from each of four Sportsperson’s Regional Caucuses. Regional Caucuses meet twice a year before the statewide meetings, giving hunters and anglers the opportunity to provide ideas and feedback to their representatives.

When the Roundtable meets next, its members are expected to address topics including recent changes to the Big Game Season Structure, agency efforts to increase access for hunting and fishing and strategies for fostering future generations of sportsmen and women.
