Ordering clothes online can often be a toss up when it comes to quality and actually resembling the product pictured on the site, but Kremmling native Anastasia Cunico wants to make it easier and more reliable with her new online retail site, Mountain Peaks Boutique.

Prior to starting her boutique, Cunico, 23, worked in agriculture sales, but always had the goal of owning her own business and ultimately, she combined her passion for clothes, customer service and Grand County with Mountain Peaks Boutique.

“I know the county has so many stores, but I wanted mine to be different, as a small store for women’s clothing and unique handmade items,” Cunico said. “I knew I wanted to do it, so I made it happen.”

Inspired by the rustic chic of the adventurous women in her life, Cunico has hand curated a selection of tops, bottoms, active wear, accessories and more on her site.

“I want people to feel comfortable and confident, they can wear (the clothes) anywhere or for any occasion and get complimented,” she said. “I want them to be happy to be a customer of mine because I put a lot of pride into what I buy and so I want them to feel that.”

Cunico said she tries to pick pieces that will work across a variety of body types and age groups, so that all of her customers can find something they know will be quality and can feel comfortable in. Mountain Peaks Boutique also has a specific section for curvy clothing.

Wanting her customers to feel comfortable is also why Cunico utilized local models and brand representatives, so shoppers can see the clothes on familiar and relatable faces and bodies.

“I want to fill the gap of anyone can come on and feel comfortable picking out something and they’re not overwhelmed, they’ll see friendly local faces and all the products are high quality,” she said.

Another feature that sets Cunico above other online retailers, is that because she lives locally, she is able to provide delivery and pick-up options so local customers can avoid the hassle of shipping.

Thanks in part to the good support and feedback Cunico has received, she is already thinking about how to expand her store and is actively searching for a storefront location in Grand County.

With more space, she could expand the handmade section, which features locally crafted goods such as blankets and jewelry, as well as continue to expand size offerings and into men’s clothing.

“Having those (handmade) items and being able to expand on their businesses has been so popular, so with the handmade section, we’ll have a maternity section within that,” Cunico said.
