Letter: Educate yourself on Colorado’s red flag law

Though the newly enacted Extreme Risk Protection Order Act, commonly called the red flag law, will not change the climate of gun violence in our country, it does offer families a helpful tool should they have fears of violence in their own home.

An article in Sky-Hi News explains the law clearly. Kudos to Sheriff Brett Schroetlin for his commitment to make families in our county one step safer. Unfortunately, the graphic used in this cover story may inflame some who don’t take the time to understand the law.

I would encourage those folks to read the article carefully. Good job, reporter McKenna Harford.
