Middle Park High School’s auditorium was abuzz Tuesday afternoon as dozens of parents, students and school staffers gathered for a ceremony honoring the nine young student athletes from the class of 2019 who have signed on to play sports after graduation.
Tuesday, shortly after noon, Middle Park High School Athletic Director Mike Reigan hosted a special signing ceremony for the nine Middle Park High School seniors who have signed on to compete in various sports at one of eight different colleges or universities across the nation next year. The nine students will compete in one of six different sports, from rodeo to skiing.
Turner Bjerken
Turner Bjerken has signed on to play baseball with St. Joseph’s College in Standish Maine starting next school year.
Caitlin Davis
Caitlin Davis will be attending Concordia University in Seward Neb. next year where she has signed on to compete in soccer.
Taylor Ehlert
Hardin Simmons College in Abilene Tex. has signed Taylor Ehlert to compete on their soccer squad starting next school year.
Ben Kuhnel
Ben Kuhnel will be heading up to St. Peter Minn. next school year where he is set to compete for the Gustavus Adolphus College football team.
Tel Linke
Tel Linke will be spending next school year at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. where he will compete on the rodeo team.
Ellie MacKendrick
Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne Wyo. will welcome Ellie MacKendrick onto their soccer squad starting next school year.
Lisa McClain
Concordia University in Seward, Neb. will also welcome Middle Park athlete Lisa McLain onto their soccer squad next school year.
Nelson Oxley
Skier Nelson Oxley will be heading to upstate New York next school year to compete with the ski team at St. Lawrence University in Canton.
Morgan Shaw
Barton College, in Wilson N.C., will welcome Morgan Shaw onto their volleyball squad starting next school year.
