Middle Park soccer to host playoff game Thursday after winning last two games

The Middle Park boys soccer team finished its year 12-3 and will host the school’s first ever home playoff game on Thursday.

The Middle Park boys soccer team will host the school’s first ever home playoff game on Thursday when the Panthers face Jefferson Academy in the opening round of the Class 3A state championships.

Middle Park won the right to host after winning its last two contests of the regular season to finish the year 12-3, which broke the school record for most wins in a season.

On Friday, Middle Park defeated Skyview Academy 3-0 with goals from Chris Orear, Gustavo Galaviz and Akram Hanna. Galaviz and Hanna also had one assist each, as goalkeeper Ethan Ruttenberg recorded the shutout with seven saves.

On Wednesday, the Panthers beat Jefferson 2-1. Dylan Christenson and Adrian Rios accounted for Middle Park’s goals while Cade Jones and Galaviz each recorded an assist.
