Monday, Oct. 21
2:40 p.m. — A horse was spotted running down US Highway 40 outside Kremmling.
2:52 p.m. — The Grand County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car wreck in Jackson County, as local authorities sometimes cover calls for the neighboring county.
3:14 p.m. — Multiple vehicles and a semi truck were involved in a wreck with injuries on US Highway 40 near Kremmling.
Tuesday, Oct. 22
7:43 a.m. — A vehicle rolled off US Highway 40 and almost went into the river by the Hitching Post outside Granby.
4:25 p.m. — The driver of a Jeep had been driving recklessly, spun off the road and was now stuck blocking the road. It was the second time in one day the vehicle had crashed.
Wednesday, Oct. 23
7:04 a.m. — There was a complaint about shots fired near Grand Lake. It turns out a hunter had killed an elk legally on private land and no crime was committed.
Friday, Oct. 25
1:15 p.m. — A welfare check was requested for a woman walking south on Highway 125 near Granby. A trooper with Colorado State Patrol arrived on scene and called for EMS.
9:54 p.m. — A bear was rummaging through dumpsters at some condos in Winter Park, and people outside were afraid to go inside their home.
Sunday, Oct. 27
6:08 p.m. —The sheriff’s office was called to help some boaters stranded on an island in Grand Lake. About 20 minutes later, the stranded party got their boat running again and authorities were told to stand down.
These are a small number of the calls fielded by Grand County’s dispatchers, first-responders and law enforcement agencies. It does not include any reports about alleged sexual assaults, child abuse, DUIs or domestic violence.
