A new dispensary opening in Fraser hopes to attract both new tokers and those who partake more frequently with its handpicked selection of marijuana products and expert budtenders.

Rocky Mountain Cannabis, which is located at 228 Byers Avenue in the old Fraser location of Serene Wellness, opens this Friday. Nate Balducci, marketing representative for Rocky Mountain Cannabis, explained the dispensary is recreational only, but offers a variety of products from around the state to enjoy.

“We go around the state and cherry pick the best quality products, which gives us the ability to test out new products and see if we like them, get rid of the ones we don’t and continuously upgrade those products and make sure they are the best on the market,” Balducci said.

The store’s selection includes all the dispensary staples, including flower, concentrates, edibles and topicals.

Since all of the products are handpicked, each store is able to customize its offerings for the specific customers they serve. Rocky Mountain Cannabis’ location in Fraser is its fifth store.

Aside from the quality products, Balducci said the dispensary also aims for quality service. Budtenders are approachable to make customers feel comfortable and knowledgeable to answer any questions.

“(Budtenders) spend one-on-one time with our customers to find a product best suited to their needs based on their questions, what they’ve tried in the past and what we have in our shop,” he said. “We can’t wait to meet the locals up there and the tourists stopping through. We’re looking forward to building those relationships with our customers.”

Despite the quality, Balducci said Rocky Mountain Cannabis strives to provide options across the price spectrum and offers three pricing tiers for flower. The top shelf is the most expensive and the middle and lower tiers get cheaper.

“How it works is we start it all on the top shelf and once the buds get a little smaller or it gets shaky, we move it down shelf,” Balducci explained. “It’s all going to smoke the same.”

Rocky Mountain Cannabis also offers a loyalty program, where customers earn a point for every dollar spent and points can be cashed in for free rewards.

Overall, the dispensary wants to provide customers with a comfortable and informed experience to find what products they will like best.

“We really want to provide a relaxed, no rush atmosphere,” Balducci said. “We get really positive feedback on it and customers really seem to like being able to wander around the store and then when they’re ready, call out for a budtender.”

The grand opening of Rocky Mountain Cannabis will be June 14.
