Grand County Search and Rescue responded to a hunter with a laceration in his leg on County Road 3 Wednesday afternoon.

Greg Foley, field director for GCSAR, said an archer was out in the Mule Creek area around noon Sept. 11 and sitting on a downed tree when a branch lacerated the man’s leg.

The area had a lot of downed timber, so some medical attention was delivered in the field. Foley said a tourniquet was applied to the injured leg, which allowed the man to walk to awaiting all-terrain vehicles.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Grand County EMS also responded.
