While some went shopping for Black Friday, many skiers and riders celebrated the opening of Winter Park Resort’s Mary Jane territory.
The Mary Jane territory and Super Gauge Express lift opened Friday morning. The Mary Jane Trail, Lower Arrowhead Loop, Shoo Fly and Sober Englishman are among the trails that opened.
Earlier this week, four other lifts opened to double the amount of terrain available at the park.
Lifts that opened Wednesday included High Lonesome Express, Olympia Express, Looking Glass and Lariet, giving access to Hobo Alley, Lonesome Whistle, Whistlestop, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and Upper Cranmer.
The tubing hill and mountain snowcat tours also started up for the season Wednesday.
According to OpenSnow.com, 17 of the 24 lifts and 38 of the 168 trails at Winter Park are now open. The park could get as much as 4 inches of snow on the mountain in the next five days.
