Trout Unlimited to host concert to raise river conservation awareness

Discussions about protecting natural resources and responsible consumption can quickly get dull, so a local nonprofit is hoping to make the conversation easier through music.

The Healthy Rivers Concert, hosted by the Colorado River Headwaters Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will take place Sept. 22 at the outdoor stage at the Headwaters Center in Winter Park. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children.

The concert features local musician Caitlyn Taussig of Kremmling and New Mexico band The Rifters for a day of country folk music. Doors open at noon, and the music goes from 1-5 p.m.

Guests also will get the opportunity to visit the new one-of-a-kind Headwaters River Journey museum on the first floor of the Headwaters Center. The museum features 31 interactive and educational exhibits focused on maintaining the health of river ecosystems, particularly the Fraser River.

The passes to the Headwaters River Journey included with the concert tickets can be redeemed at anytime.

Concert tickets can be purchased at Winter Park Optical and online. They will also be available at the gate on the day of the event if it’s not sold out.
