Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado is seek volunteers age 14 and up for a project July 27-28 at the Sherman Creek Trail in Arapaho National Forest, halfway between Granby and Rand.
Each day up to 60 volunteers will work 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to finish the machine-cut trail, open to mountain bikes and ATVs. Ultimately, the volunteers’ efforts will help connect 80 miles of continuous singletrack trail by linking the Grand Lake Trail System to the Snyder Creek Trail System in Routt National Forest, according to a news release.
Volunteers may participate on one or both days of the project. The nonprofit group will provide campsites as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
Volunteers must bring their own tent and camping supplies. For more, go to Bitly.com/shermancreek or contact Emily Schaefer at emily@voc.org or 303-715-1010 ext. 116.
