Weather service: Even more snow on the way for Grand County

Another spring snowstorm this week is expected to bring several inches of snow to Grand County, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Snow showers, with brief periods of moderate snowfall, will begin to develop over the mountains and high foothills Wednesday afternoon, with snow mainly falling above 9,000 feet, according to the weather service.

Snow will become more widespread in the mountains Wednesday evening, but will be lighter. The heaviest snow will fall on the eastward facing slopes.

Three to 7 inches of snow is expected over the higher mountains by Thursday morning, according to the weather service.

Another 2 to 5 inches of snow is likely over the higher mountains, with a mix of rain and snow in the valleys and foothills, through Thursday afternoon.

Conditions will clear for Friday and through the weekend, with warmer temperatures and drier conditions expected.
